Trucks
With their low-to-moderate speed and frequent stop/start driving pattern, delivery trucks can reap some of the
highest benefits of the switch to hybrid. Instead of constant, inefficient, low-speed engine revving, a Chorus
series hybrid architecture uses the Chorus motor to deliver power to the drive wheels, while a streamlined
internal combustion engine can function solely as a highly-efficient electrical generator, running in only one
of several discrete "sweet spots" that maximize fuel efficiency. The high start up torque of a Chorus motor
is perfectly suited for frequent starts and stops.
Mail, service, sanitation trucks and other commercial and government vehicles can benefit from the fuel- and
maintenance-savings unlocked by a Chorus drivetrain solution. City buses can be propelled exclusively by a quiet
Chorus electric motor without the need for an expensive and repair-prone transmission.
